To foster fair competition across industries and enhance environmental communication, the European Commission (EC) proposed the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) method as the default approach to assessing product impact throughout their life cycles. Presently, PEF is increasingly utilized as a tool to facilitate environmental reporting in forthcoming European legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative on PEF was developed by UNIDO under the EU4Environment Action in all Eastern Partnership countries.
