Ecosystem services and livelihoods in the Eastern Partnership countries: From project results to future action

The regional meeting “Ecosystem services and livelihoods in the Eastern Partnership countries: From project results to future action” took place on 8 June 2026 in a hybrid format.

The meeting aimed to:

  • review achievements under the Ecosystem Services and Livelihoods workstream, led by the World Bank
  • demonstrate national ownership of results and their integration into policies, institutions, and practices.
  • reflect on sustainability and scaling up pathways beyond EU4Environment.

Participants

The meeting brought together government officials from ministries responsible for the environment and other relevant government agencies, representatives of EU institutions, the World Bank, academia, consultants, NGOs, civil society, and other relevant stakeholders from partner countries.

Background

The final regional meeting was organised within the EU4Environment Programme, under Result 4, “Advancing ecosystem services and livelihoods in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries”, implemented by the World Bank. Within this framework, the World Bank provided technical expertise to partner countries across several key areas of work: advancing the expansion of the Emerald Network; strengthening sustainable forest management and reducing illegal logging; fostering community engagement in nature conservation; and raising awareness of emerging green finance instruments that support sustainable forest management and the provision of ecosystem services.
