The World Bank, one of the EU4Environment partners, seeks a consultancy to evaluate the nature restoration potential of Moldova, focusing on forests and wetlands, and to engage with local communities in pilot areas for forest restoration. The Consultant will assist in formalizing reforestation and developing forest management plans to promote biodiversity and sustainable ecosystems.
Tasks:
1. Analyze Moldova’s Nature Restoration Potential for forests and wetlands.
2. Assist local communities in identifying and formalizing naturally regenerated forest sites.
3. Develop forest management plans to enhance socio-economic development through sustainable ecosystem management.
Requirements:
- Expertise in sustainable natural resource management, particularly forest and wetland restoration.
- Knowledge of ecosystem-based approaches to conservation and management.
- Experience in Moldova.
- Skills in forest management planning, including technical and cartographic documentation.
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
- Effective communication with local stakeholders.
- Experience in GIS operations and database management for ecosystems.
- Proficiency in Romanian and English.
