On 15 October 2025, the World Bank hosted an inspiring roundtable on “Climate Finance, EU Alignment, and Forest Governance Support for Ukraine” in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The main purpose of the event was to present key findings and recommendations from the new report “Climate Finance and Carbon Pricing Opportunities for the Forestry Sector in Ukraine”, developed under the EU4Environment Programme.
The roundtable also marked the launch of a new PROGREEN-funded initiative “Support to Ukraine’s Forest Governance, EU Alignment, and Climate Action Enhancement.” This program will help strengthen forest governance, advance EU policy alignment, and boost Ukraine’s transition toward a greener, climate-resilient future.
The discussion brought together leaders and experts from the Government of Ukraine, the EU Delegation, and international partners. They were all united by one goal: to unlock new opportunities for sustainable forest management and climate action.
