Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) Clubs Certificate Award Ceremony in Georgia

EU4Environment introduces the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) Clubs in Georgia, and recognizes the achievements of its member enterprises.

The RECP Clubs Certificate Award Ceremony took place on 28 October 2021.

The purpose of the event was to demonstrate UNIDO’s commitment to scale up the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) in Georgia by showcasing the role and impact of RECP Clubs in the country (groups of various manufacturing enterprises co-located in different regions). The RECP Clubs bring together small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and take them jointly through an intensive training and coaching programme, resulting in a customized RECP action plan developed by each company upon the completion of the Clubs’ activities. The coaching in the RECP methodology is conducted over a period of four months.

In Georgia, the Club training modules were organized in the following thematic areas: business environmental profile, energy, water and wastewater, materials and waste, chemicals and chemical waste. Afterwards, the RECP action plan was developed by the SMEs, with the support of the RECP experts. The identified measures will support the Club member companies to save energy, water and materials, reduce their negative impact on the environment and human health, increase profit, improve compliance with the Georgian environmental legislation, and increase their access to financial resources in order to invest in cleaner technologies. Upon the completion of the training programme and the submission of the RECP action plans, each Club member is awarded with a certificate, attesting its participation and contribution within the RECP Clubs programme.
